Hudson is proud to have provided labor supervision (Hudson Theatrical Associates) and scenery (Hudson Scenic Studio) for the Papal Mass by Pope Benedict XVI at Yankee Stadium. Attended by nearly 60,000 people and broadcast around the world, it was the largest public event of the Pope's visit to the United States.
Less than 50 hours after the Yankees beat the Red Sox 7-1, Hudson helped transform the venerable ballpark into a majestic cathedral of worship. Hudson Theatrical Associates assembled over 300 stagehands in carpentry, electrics, sound, and props to work multiple shifts throughout the night. Hudson Scenic Studio provided custom-fabricated scenery for not only the Sunday mass but also a large youth rally attended by the Pope at St. Joseph Seminary in Yonkers the day before.
